Adjective ಗುಣ ವಾಚಕ

An adjective is a word that describes or gives more information about a noun or pronoun.

ವಿಶೇಷಣ (Adjective) ಎಂದರೆ ನಾಮಪದ ಅಥವಾ ಸರ್ವನಾಮದ ಗುಣ, ಲಕ್ಷಣ, ಪ್ರಮಾಣ, ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುವ ಪದ.

Example:

1. She is a beautiful girl.

   ಅವಳು ಒಂದು ಸುಂದರ ಹುಡುಗಿ.

2. It is a big house.

  ಅದು ಒಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮನೆ.

3. He has a red car.

   ಅವನ ಬಳಿ ಕೆಂಪು ಕಾರು ಇದೆ.

4. This is a sweet mango.

   ಇದು ಒಂದು ಸಿಹಿ ಮಾವಿನ ಹಣ್ಣು.

Kinds of Adjectives (ಗುಣವಾಚಕ ವಿಧಗಳು)

1. Adjective of Quality (ಗುಣವಾಚಕ ವಿಶೇಷಣ)

These adjectives describe the quality or nature of a person, place, or thing.

ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ, ವಸ್ತು ಅಥವಾ ಸ್ಥಳದ ಗುಣ/ಲಕ್ಷಣವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುವ ವಿಶೇಷಣ.

Examples:

1. He is a brave boy.

          ಅವನು ಒಂದು ಧೈರ್ಯಶಾಲಿ ಹುಡುಗ.

• She is a kind woman.

          ಅವಳು ಒಂದು ದಯಾಳು ಮಹಿಳೆ.

• It is a beautiful flower.

          ಅದು ಒಂದು ಸುಂದರ ಹೂವು.

• This is a happy child.

          ಇದು ಒಂದು ಸಂತೋಷದ ಮಗು.

• He is a clever student.

          ಅವನು ಒಂದು ಚತುರ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿ.

• This is a strong building.

          ಇದು ಒಂದು ಬಲವಾದ ಕಟ್ಟಡ.

2. Adjective of Quantity (ಪ್ರಮಾಣವಾಚಕ ವಿಶೇಷಣ)

These adjectives show the quantity (how much) of something.

ವಸ್ತುವಿನ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ (ಎಷ್ಟು) ವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುವ ವಿಶೇಷಣ.

Examples:

1. I have some water.

  ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ನೀರು ಇದೆ.

2. She has much patience.

   ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಬಹಳ ಸಹನೆ ಇದೆ.

3. We need little sugar.

   ನಮಗೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಸಕ್ಕರೆ ಬೇಕು.

4. He has enough money.

   ಅವನ ಬಳಿ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಹಣ ಇದೆ.

5. There is no milk in the glass.

   ಗ್ಲಾಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೂ ಇಲ್ಲ ಹಾಲು.

6. They have plenty of time.

   ಅವರ ಬಳಿ ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ಸಮಯ ಇದೆ.

3. Adjective of Number (ಸಂಖ್ಯಾವಾಚಕ ವಿಶೇಷಣ)

These adjectives show the number or order (how many / which number) of nouns.

ನಾಮಪದದ  ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಅಥವಾ ಕ್ರಮ (ಎಷ್ಟು / ಯಾವ ಕ್ರಮ) ವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುವ ವಿಶೇಷಣ.

Examples

Exact Number (ನಿಖರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ)

1.  I have two pens.

   ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿ ಎರಡು ಪೆನ್‌ಗಳಿವೆ.

2. She bought five apples.

   ಅವಳು ಐದು ಸೇಬು ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಖರೀದಿಸಿದಳು.

4. Demonstrative Adjective (ಸೂಚಕ ವಿಶೇಷಣ)

Points out specific nouns.

Example :

1.This pen is mine.

ಈ ಪೆನ್ ನನ್ನದು.
