English Grammar ಪಾಠ 5: Pronoun Definition, Types and Examples

PRONOUN: Pro-means, in in front of, instead of, on behalf of.

• ‘Pro’ ಎಂದರೆ ಪರವಾಗಿ, ಬದಲಾಗಿ, ನಿಮಿತ್ಯವಾಗಿ, ಎಂಬರ್ಥ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಂದರೆ ನಾಮಪದದ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಬಳಸುವ ಪದಗಳಾಗಿವೆ.
• The word which is used instead of a noun or a pronoun.
• ನಾಮಪದದ ಸ್ಥಾನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಳಸಲ್ಪಡುವ ಪದಗಳೇ ಸರ್ವನಾಮ.

    Example: I, We, You, You, He, She It, They. Etc….

KINDS OF PRONOUN:  ಸರ್ವನಾಮ ಪದಗಳ ವಿಧಗಳು

1. Personal Pronoun: ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ವಾಚಕ ಸರ್ವನಾಮ
2. Reflective Pronoun: ಸ್ವಯಂಸೂಚಕ ಸರ್ವನಾಮ
3. Demonstrative Pronoun: ದರ್ಶಕ ಸರ್ವನಾಮ
4. Relative Pronoun: ಸಂಬಂಧವಾಚಕ ಸರ್ವನಾಮ
5. Interrogative Pronoun: ಪ್ರಶ್ನಾರ್ಥಕ ಸರ್ವನಾಮ
6. Indefinite Pronoun: ಅನಿರ್ಧಿಷ್ಟ ಸರ್ವನಾಮ
7. Distributive Pronoun: ವಿಭಜನಾತ್ಮಕ ಸರ್ವನಾಮ
8. Emphatic Pronoun: ಆವದಾರಕ ಸರ್ವನಾಮ
9. Reciprocal Pronoun: ಅನ್ಯೊನ್ಯವಾಚಕ ಸರ್ವನಾಮ
