What is an Adverb? ಕ್ರಿಯಾವಿಶೇಷಣ ಎಂದರೇನು? An adverb is a word that modifies (describes) a verb, adjective, or another adverb. It tells us how, when, where, how often, or to what extent something happens. ಕ್ರಿಯಾವಿಶೇಷಣ ಎಂದರೆ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಪದ, ಗುಣವಾಚಕ ಅಥವಾ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಕ್ರಿಯಾವಿಶೇಷಣವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸುವ ಪದ. ಇದು ಹೇಗೆ, ಯಾವಾಗ, ಎಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ, ಎಷ್ಟು ಬಾರಿ, ಎಷ್ಟು ಮಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. Kinds of Adverbs with Examples ಕ್ರಿಯಾವಿಶೇಷಣಗಳ ವಿಧಗಳು 1. Adverb of Manner (ರೀತಿ ವಚಕ ಕ್ರಿಯಾವಿಶೇಷಣ) Tells how something happens. She sings beautifully. ಅವಳು ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ ಹಾಡುತ್ತಾಳೆ. He runs fast. ಅವನು ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಓಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. 2. Adverb of Time (ಕಾಲದ ಕ್ರಿಯಾವಿಶೇಷಣ) Tells when something happens. I will come tomorrow. ನಾನು ನಾಳೆ ಬರುತ್ತೇನೆ. She came early. ಅವಳು ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಬಂದಳು. 3. Adverb of Place (ಸ್ಥಳದ ಕ್ರಿಯಾವಿಶೇಷಣ) Tells where something happens. He is here. ಅವನು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ. They went outside. ಅವರು ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋದರು. 4. Adverb of Frequency (ಆವರ್ತನೆಯ ಕ್ರಿಯಾವಿಶೇಷಣ) Tells how often something happens. I always do my homework. ನಾನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನನ್ನ ಗೃಹಪಾಠ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. She sometimes watches TV. ಅವಳು ಕೆಲವೊಮ್ಮೆ ಟಿವಿ ನೋಡುತ್ತಾಳೆ. 5. Adverb of Degree (ಮಟ್ಟದ ಕ್ರಿಯಾವಿಶೇಷಣ) Tells how much / to what extent. He is very happy. ಅವನು ತುಂಬಾ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಗಿದೆ. The water is too hot. ನೀರು ತುಂಬಾ ಬಿಸಿ ಇದೆ. 6. Adverb of Reason (ಕಾರಣದ ಕ್ರಿಯಾವಿಶೇಷಣ) Tells why something happens. He was late, therefore he missed the bus. ಅವನು ತಡವಾಗಿ ಬಂದನು, ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಬಸ್ ತಪ್ಪಿತು. 7. Interrogative Adverb (ಪ್ರಶ್ನಾರ್ಥಕ ಕ್ರಿಯಾವಿಶೇಷಣ) Used to ask questions. Where are you going? ನೀನು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀಯ? Why are you sad? ನೀನು ಏಕೆ ದುಃಖದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದೀಯ?
